Interdisciplinary Science Rankings 2025
l The UK's Times Higher Education (THE) and Schmidt Science Fellows have collaborated for the first time on the Interdisciplinary Science Rankings 2025, which measures the contribution and commitment of universities around the world to interdisciplinary science and understands the world's top universities in interdisciplinary scientific research, hoping to draw lessons from multiple fields to solve the challenges of complex problems facing the world.
l The interdisciplinary science ranking is evaluated based on three pillars, each representing a stage in the lifecycle of research projects, including Inputs, Process, and Outputs. Each pillar also contains different indicators, with a total of 11 indicators.
l In the first THE interdisciplinary science ranking, 794 universities from 92 countries around the world were listed. Our university (Kaohsiung Medical University, KMU) demonstrated its outstanding academic strength in its first ranking, ranking 193rd in the world, 6th in Taiwan, and first among private universities in Taiwan.
l KMU performed particularly well in the "Process stage", ranking 4th in Taiwan, demonstrating KMU's outstanding support measures for interdisciplinary research and resource allocation, and showing that KMU has the ability to optimize the interdisciplinary research environment and meet the diverse needs of interdisciplinary research. In the future, KMU will continue to deepen interdisciplinary research and continuously enhance KMU's international influence.
