World University Rankings 2025
l The "World University Rankings" of the UK's Times Higher Education (THE) is the only global performance table that evaluates research-based universities, including teaching, research, and international vision. In the 2025 World University Rankings, our university (Kaohsiung Medical University, KMU) ranked between 801-1000 in the world, ranked 13th in Taiwan, and ranked 5th among private universities.
lThe evaluation indicators are divided into five major areas. Compared with 2024 in Taiwan, the teaching area in 2025 of KMU ranked 12th (improved by 5 places), the research environment area ranked 16th (improved by 2 places), the research quality area ranked 15th (improved by 1 place), the international outlook area ranked 35th (improved by 2 places), and the industry-university area ranked 13th.
QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025
l Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) released the latest QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025 on March 12, covering 55 subjects across five broad subject areas. Our university (Kaohsiung Medical University, KMU) has 1 area and 5 subjects on the list, and all the area and subjects on the list are ranked in the top 10 in Taiwan.
l The area of "Life Sciences & Medicine" ranks 7th in Taiwan. Among the five subjects on the list in Taiwan, "Biological Sciences" is tied for 9th, "Medicine" is ranked 7th, "Nursing" is tied for 3rd, "Pharmacy & Pharmacology" is ranked 5th, and "Chemistry", which is on the list again this year, is tied for 8th.
l One area and three subjects are ranked among the top 450 in the world, indicating that KMU's international competitiveness in the medical field continues to improve; the "Nursing" subject has significantly increased to 108th in the world this year, compared with last year's ranking of 139th in the world.
World University Rankings by subject 2025
l The Times Higher Education (THE) of the UK announced the 2025 THE World University Subject Rankings on January 22, 2025. This year, our university (Kaohsiung Medical University, KMU) has two subjects on the list, namely "Life Sciences": ranked 601-800 in the world, ranked 6th in Taiwan (one place higher than last year), and tied for 3rd among private universities, and "Medical and Health": ranked 601-800 in the world, ranked 10th in Taiwan, and tied for 5th among private universities. The scores of the two subjects in the areas of international outlook and industry-university fields have both improved.
