In accordance with the GRI Standards, Kaohsiung Medical University (KMU) conducted a comprehensive materiality analysis in 2024 to enhance the transparency of its sustainability strategies and performance. The analysis identified seven key stakeholder groups—students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, high school students, and internship institutions—and collected a total of 736 valid survey responses. From an initial list of 22 sustainability topics, KMU determined nine material issues based on their significance to environmental, social, and economic impacts, as well as stakeholder concern.

KMU systematically manages these material issues by establishing corresponding performance indicators and conducting risk assessments to guide implementation and monitoring. Through this structured approach, KMU demonstrates its commitment to strengthening institutional resilience, fostering innovation, and advancing a sustainable campus with positive global health impact.
